Reporting to the  Marketing and Communications Manager while working closely with the Director of Sales, the Business Development Representative (BDR) plays a crucial role in the customer journey at Korem.

As such, you are the first person to get in touch with prospective clients. Providing support to marketing and sales, engaging in demand generation activities and campaigns in order to identify potential good fit customers and qualify sales opportunities is what this role is all about.

You must be comfortable and consistent in maintaining high activity levels each day, working with marketing, sales and channel partners, generating interest, qualifying prospects and contributing to sales pipeline.

Main Responsibilities

  • Act as an ambassador by demonstrating a deep understanding of our competitive differentiator and the value we provide our customers;
  • Use prospecting strategies (emails, phone calls, nurturing sequence, social selling techniques) to lead initial outreach with prospects and identify needs and challenges;
  • Manage and coordinate leads through the qualification process and through the discovery of opportunities, working closely with Account Managers to confirm qualification criteria as needed;
  • Develop an effective pipeline of new opportunities and customers through the qualification of leads generated from marketing campaigns and inbound prospecting;
  • Find new business contacts using external data sources.

Required Training and Experience

  • Degree, Diploma or other training in sales or a related field to the responsibilities of the position;;
  • Advanced computer skills, especially with Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint and Word) and use a CRM;
  • Excellent oral and written skills in French and in English;
  • Must be able to travel to Canada, United States and internationally, and have a valid passport.


  • Experience with the Salesforce CRM;
  • Experience in a B2B sales environment;
  • Knowledge of geospatial technologies (MapInfo, Alteryx, Esri, Tableau, MapBox, etc.);
  • Knowledge of business intelligence (BI).
