Position Summary

Reporting to the Director of Sales while working closely with the Marketing and Communications Manager, the Business Development Representative (BDR) plays a crucial role in the customer journey at Korem.

As such, you are the first person to get in touch with prospective clients. Providing support to marketing and sales, engaging in demand generation activities and campaigns in order to identify potential good fit customers and qualify sales opportunities is what this role is all about.

You must be comfortable and consistent in maintaining high activity levels each day, working with marketing, sales and channel partners, generating interest, qualifying prospects and contributing to sales pipeline.

Main Responsibilities

  • Use prospecting strategies (emails, phone calls, nurturing sequence, social selling techniques) to lead initial outreach with prospects and identify needs and challenges;
  • Manage and coordinate leads through the qualification process and through the discovery of opportunities, working closely with Account Managers to confirm qualification criteria as needed;
  • Develop an effective pipeline of new opportunities and customers through the qualification of leads generated from marketing campaigns and inbound prospecting;
  • Assume the day-to-day responsibility of achieving new account acquisition and generate new business according to targets, objectives, and plans;
  • Find new contacts using external data sources such as LinkedIn Sales Navigator;
  • Collaborate with the Partner Development team to generate interest and help drive sales opportunities;
  • Monitor and maintain new and existing accounts and client information in our CRM and other relevant tech stacks;
  • Provide ongoing market feedback and suggestions to refine our messaging and positioning in close collaboration with the Marketing team;
  • Participate in Sales meetings, local trade shows and trainings, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of current market and solutions;
  • Be an ambassador by demonstrating a deep understanding of our competitive differentiator and the value we provide our customers.

Required Training and Experience

  • Degree, Diploma or equivalent in a related field to the responsibilities of the position;
  • A minimum of 1 year of sales experience or quota carrying in a B2B sales environment;
  • Advanced computer skills, especially with Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint and Word) and use a CRM (Salesforce as an asset);
  • Excellent oral and written skills in French and in English.
  • Must be able to travel to Canada, United States and internationally, and have a valid passport.


  • Have a very good knowledge of geospatial technologies and business intelligence (MapInfo, Alteryx, Esri, Tableau, MapBox, etc.)
